How does my receptionist answer my calls?

Customers call your Nimble number, or you forward your existing business number to it. Your receptionist answers with the voice, greeting and rules you publish on the Receptionist page. Settings → Your number is where you choose which number customers call and when your receptionist picks up.

Can I answer calls myself for a while?

Accepted Answer

Yes. In Settings → Your number, switch Receptionist off (the Calls switch on the Overview does the same). Calls ring your phone, and if nobody answers, your receptionist takes a message. Switch it back on to have your receptionist answer the way you had it set. This only changes calls: texts and email keep their own switches on the Overview.

What happens if my receptionist can't help a caller?

It takes a message or arranges a call back, or puts the caller through to you if you've set up Putting calls through on the Receptionist page. Anyone who needs you shows under Needs you in Conversations, and alerts tell you by email or text.

Question 4

How do I hear about urgent calls and new bookings?

In Settings → Alerts, choose email, text or both for each kind of alert: urgent calls, calls that need a look, new bookings, messages taken and customer replies. Texts come from Nimble's shared text number and go to your Alert mobile; the daily summary comes by email.

Can my receptionist book into my existing calendar?

Accepted Answer

Yes, if you use Outlook (Google Calendar is coming soon). On the Bookings page, use Connect your calendar: Nimble adds its bookings to your calendar and checks it for busy times.

Will callers know they're talking to an AI?

Accepted Answer

Your receptionist is natural and upfront. You can set its greeting to introduce itself however you like — most businesses keep it warm and simple.

Question 7

How do I change my plan or billing?

Accepted Answer

Head to Settings → Billing to change your plan, update your payment method or download past invoices at any time.
